Day 12: Wind Cave National Park, SD

Scott had planned for us to visit Wind Cave with the intent of taking The Wild Tour, where they set you up with the gear necessary to crawl through the cave.  Unfortunately, that tour didn’t begin until after our visit. We had to settle for The Walking Tour.  It was still interesting to be inside the 50 degrees cave several flights underground.  Our tour guide was a retired gentleman from NYC of all places!

Scott and I were asked to take the rear of our group of 40 people, and Don, our guide, had the lead.

The highlight of tour was meeting our first new friends since our road trip began.   Originally from California, they are ten-months into full timing, and they shared some very valuable tidbits.   We hope to meet up with them again in the near future.
