The Colorado Trail runs from Denver to Durango. Today we got on this trail at Little Molas Lake in the San Juan National Forest heading south towards Durango.
We hiked 9.4 miles out and back with little elevation gain, which made for a nice, easy pace.
In the picture below, Scott is pointing at North Twilight. We hiked that in 2016 as part of an overnight backpacking trip. (I can’t figure out how he recognizes most mountains as they all seem to look the same to me.)
We continued on and I took the lead once again.
Eventually, we found ourselves out of the open elements and back in the glorious shade from the beautiful evergreens.
Scotts camera captures the beauty of these wildflowers.
We hope to return to this trail someday with our bikes.
